The DELIZIE REALI Project

Delizie Reali S.c. a r.l. has been awarded co-funding under the PR Campania FESR 2021-2027 — Action 1.3.1 "Support for the development of cultural and creative enterprises".

The project was born within the Real Bosco di Capodimonte, one of the most significant historic landscape complexes in the city of Naples, with the aim of consolidating and developing a cultural and creative enterprise capable of preserving the memory of the Royal Site while returning it to the community as a living, accessible, productive space. Delizie Reali operates in the restored areas of the Giardino Torre and the Stufa dei Fiori — a historic nineteenth-century greenhouse converted into a tea room and bistrot — combining hospitality, dining, the sale of local specialities, educational activities and the promotion of the site’s historic botanical heritage.

The operation funded under the PR Campania FESR 2021-2027 is part of a broader strategy to promote cultural and creative enterprises across the Campania region. It supports the strengthening of the company’s production structure, process innovation, the expansion of services offered to the public and the development of the agri-food supply chain under the Delizie Reali brand, a line of jams, preserves, herbal teas, infusions and artisan products linked to the historic cultivars of the Real Bosco and to the Neapolitan gastronomic tradition.

The project is founded on a principle of integrated sustainability — environmental, cultural, social and economic — and is carried out in collaboration with a network of Third Sector partners, cultural institutions and local producers, promoting artisan skills, the recovery of endangered varieties and inclusive employment.

Objectives

The project pursues a range of objectives, all serving the overall aim of supporting the development of the cultural and creative enterprise Delizie Reali and strengthening its role in promoting the historic botanical heritage of the Real Bosco di Capodimonte.

• Strengthening the company’s production and management capacity, through targeted measures addressing its organisation, in-house skills and equipment.
• Expanding the range of services offered to the public within the Real Bosco: café-bistrot, tea room, historic pizzeria, shop, guided tours, educational workshops for schools and families, and events dedicated to culture, food and wine.
• Developing the Delizie Reali brand and its line of quality agri-food products (jams, preserves, juices, herbal teas, spirits) linked to historic cultivars, local vegetable varieties and the traditions of Campania.
• Process and product innovation, through the purchase of machinery, equipment and technologies for processing, preservation, packaging and marketing.
• Employment growth and social inclusion, in coordination with the network of social cooperatives and Third Sector partners working alongside the company, with particular attention to the integration of disadvantaged people into employment.
• Promoting the local area and its cultural treasures, through integrated communication, participation in fairs and events, and the creation of networks with other cultural and creative enterprises in Campania.

Expected results

The expected results of the project span the economic and productive, cultural and social spheres, in line with the PR Campania FESR 2021-2027 indicators for Action 1.3.1.

• Consolidation and growth of Delizie Reali’s commercial, cultural and educational activities, with a measurable increase in turnover, visitor numbers and brand visibility.
• Expansion of the audience served and of the range of experiences offered to visitors to the Real Bosco di Capodimonte, with particular attention to cultural tourism, schools, families and residents of the metropolitan area.
• Development of the Delizie Reali branded product line and strengthening of sales channels (physical shop, e-commerce, selected distribution, fairs and events).
• Growth in in-house skills and production capacity, thanks to the new machinery, equipment and planned training programmes.
• Strengthening of the partnership network with social cooperatives, cultural institutions, schools, universities and local organisations, in keeping with the Programme’s principles of sustainability and inclusion.
• A contribution to safeguarding the historic botanical heritage of the Royal Site, through the recovery of endangered cultivars, support for biodiversity and the handing down of traditional knowledge.

The results achieved will be updated progressively over the course of the project’s implementation, in accordance with the transparency and reporting obligations set out in the Guidelines of the PR Campania FESR 2021-2027.
